With advanced technology, people try to avail wireless technologies in different roles. In this paper, the RF modules are implemented as modernized wireless system to overcome the use of wire. RF transmitter and RF receiver are main devices of the system. And then LED, transformer, relay, and push buttons are used as supporting components of the system. HT12E and HT12D are mainly used for decoding and encoding the data. The HT12E encoder IC converts the 4 bit data from the 4 data pins that are connected to buttons into serial data. This serial data is sent to RF transmitter. The RF transmitter transmits this serial data using signals. At the receiver side, the RF receiver receives the serial data. This serial data is sent to HT12D decoder IC which converts into 4 bit parallel data. The 4 data pins of decoder are connected to LEDs. According to the button pushed, the LEDs can be turned ON and OFF meaning that the specific task or function can be carried out by mean of remote predefined key. In today's world, there is a continuous need for wireless control using with transmitter and receiver in standard and modern living. This paper focuses on the effective switching system that allows user control of electrical appliances using smart phone. This system will be able to ease the effort of physically challenged individuals in controlling home and office appliances. To operate the effective switching system, the user should send DTMF Dual Tone Multi Frequency to system phone via Global System for Mobile Communication GSM . In the system unit, DTMF decoder decodes the signals from the system phone. These decoded signals are fed to the PIC16F677 microcontroller to perform the required function. The turbo detection of turbo coded symbols over correlated Rayleigh flat fading channels generated according to Jakes' model is considered in this paper. We propose a method to estimate the channel signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and the maximum Doppler frequency. These statistics are required by the linear minimum mean squared error (LMMSE) channel estimator. To improve the system convergence , we redefine the channel reliability factor by taking into account the channel estimation error statistics. Simulation results for rate 1/3 turbo code and two different normalized fading rates show that the use of the new reliability factor greatly improves the performance. The improvement is more substantial when channel statistics are unknown. K EYWORDS MAP-BCJR decoder, SNR, maximum Doppler frequency, turbo processing, channel reliability.

This paper presents circuit design for a low power fault secure encoder and decoder system. Memory cells in logic circuits have been protected from soft errors for more than a decade due to increase in soft error rates. In this paper the circuitry around the memory block have been susceptible to soft errors and must be protected from faults. The proposed design uses error correcting codes and ring counter addressing scheme. In the ring counter several new clock gating techniques are proposed to reduce power consumption. A fault secure Encoder and Decoder error free low power logic circuits can be achieved by the proposed design. Simulation results show great improvement in power consumption. Fault secure Encoder and Decoder with clock gated by CG-element consumes approximately half the power of that consumed by the fault free circuit which doesn't employ clock gating technique

Low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes offer a very powerful error correction technique which allows data transmission in wireless networks at rates near the channel capacity with arbitrarily low probability of error. In this paper, we design a class of linearly encodable LDPC codes with adaptive code rates, i.e. the code rate can be adapted according to channel conditions to maximize the total capacity. Since a unique mother parity check matrix is used to construct LDPC codes with several code rates, the great advantage of the proposed codes is that a single universal encoder (decoder) is adequate to encode (decode) multi-rate codes, which makes it possible to efficiently implement multi-rate LDPC codes in a subscriber station. The implementation results into field programmable gate array (FPGA) devices indicate that a universal layered encoder for LDPC codes with 9 code rates is capable of reaching a throughput above 1.2 Gigabit per second by using 138 exclusive- OR gates and a master clock of 100 MHz. By combining multilevel modulation with the designed multi-rate LDPC codes, a transmission scheme with adaptive spectral efficiency is proposed. The simulation results indicate that the schemes with a spectral efficiency of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 bits/symbol/Hz can achieve extremely reliable transmission in a Rayleigh fading channel at signal-to-noise ratios (SNR) per bit of 5, 6, 10, 14, and 16 dB, respectively.

Low Power is an extremely important issue for future mobile communication systems; The focus of this paper is to implementat turbo codes for low power solutions. The effect on performance due to variation in parameters like frame length, number of iterations, type of encoding scheme and type of the interleave in the presence of additive white Gaussian noise is studied with the floating point model. In order to obtain the effect of quantization and word length variation, a fixed point model of the application is also developed. The application performance measure, namely bit-error rate (BER) is used as a design constraint while optimizing for power and area coverage. Low power Optimization is Performed on Implementation levels by the use of Voltage scaling. With those Techniques we can reduced the power 98.5%and Area(LUT) is 57% and speed grade is Increased .This type of Power maneger is proposed and implemented based on the timing details of the turbo decoder in the VHDL model.

Most modern bandwidth extension techniques predict the high- frequency band based on features extracted from the lower band. While this works for some frames, problems arise when the correlation between the low and the high band is insufficient. In these situations, additional high-band information must be sent to the decoder. In this paper, we propose a scalable speech coding method

—SRAM are useful building blocks in many applications such as cache memories, data storage embedded applications, microprocessors. The paper aims to propose the design for 128x128 SRAM with self time dummy replica technique for fast read & write access and low power consumption. The main functional blocks are 6T SRAM cell, row and column decoders, precharge circuit, read/write block and sense amplifier. Access time, speed & power consumption are the three key parameters for an SRAM memory design. Self-time technique has been implemented to optimize power and access speed of SRAM. Memory timing circuits need a delay element which tracks the bit-line delay but still provide a large swing signal which can be used by the subsequent stages of the control logic. The key to building such a delay stage is to use a delay element which is a replica of the memory cell connected to the bit-line, while still providing a full swing output. This technique uses a dummy column and dummy row in the RAM to control the flow of signals through the core. The 128x128 SRAM has been designed, implemented & analyzed in standard TSMC 180nm technology library using Cadence Virtuoso tool. Keywords—SRAM, Decoder, Precharge Circuit, Sense Amplifier, Dummy column. I. INTRODUCTION With the rapid growth of communication and digital systems, handheld devices and consumer electronics are becoming increasingly popular. Large SRAM arrays that are widely used as cache memory in microprocessors occupy a significant portion of silicon area. In an attempt to optimize the performance of such chips, large arrays of fast SRAM help to boost the system performance. Low power SRAM array implementation is used to demonstrate the feasibility of low power memory design. This work explores the design of SRAMs, focusing on optimizing delay and power. While process and supply scaling remain the biggest drivers of fast low power designs, this report investigates some circuit techniques which can be used in conjunction to scaling to achieve fast, low power operation. To reduce the power consumption the first technique is to reduce the active duty cycle of the memory operation using self-timed architecture. An internal clock pulse with reduced on time is generated which controls all the memory operation. Second technique of power reduction is to use multi-stage row and column decoding which reduces the power consumption as well as it also improves the timing characteristics of memory.

This paper explores the problem of communicating high-quality, foveated video streams in real time. Foveated video exploits the nonuniform resolution of the human visual system by preferentially allocating bits according to the proximity to assumed visual fixation points, thus delivering perceptually high quality at greatly reduced bandwidths. Foveated video streams possess specific data density properties that can be exploited to enhance the efficiency of subsequent video processing. Here, we exploit these properties to construct several efficient foveated video processing algorithms: foveation filtering (local bandwidth reduction), motion estimation, motion compensation, video rate control, and video postprocessing. Our approach leads to enhanced computational efficiency by interpreting nonuniform-density foveated images on the uniform domain and by using a foveation protocol between the encoder and the decoder.

The JPEG2000 image coding standard defines two kinds of region of interest (ROI) coding methods-the general scaling based method and the maximum shift (maxshift) method. The former requires shape coding of the ROIs, which leads to increased complexity of codec implementations and limits the choice of ROI shapes (currently, only rectangle and ellipse shapes are defined). The latter allows for arbitrarily shaped ROI coding without explicitly transmitting any shape information to the decoder, but does not have the flexibility to select an arbitrary scaling value to define the relative importance of the ROI and the background wavelet coefficients. We propose a bitplane-by-bitplane shift (BbBShift) method, which supports both arbitrary ROI shape and arbitrary scaling without shape coding

By investigating the distribution of phrase pairs in phrase translation tables, the work in this paper describes an approach to increase the number of n-gram alignments in phrase translation tables output by a sampling-based alignment method. This approach consists in enforcing the alignment of n-grams in distinct translation subtables so as to increase the number of n-grams. Standard normal distribution is used to allot alignment time among translation subtables, which results in adjustment of the distribution of n-grams. This leads to better evaluation results on statistical machine translation tasks than the original sampling-based alignment approach. Furthermore, the translation quality obtained by merging phrase translation tables computed from the sampling-based alignment method and from MGIZA++ is examined.

Future generations of cellular communications requires higher data rates and a more reliable
transmission link with the growth of multimedia services, while keeping satisfactory quality of service, .
MIMO antenna systems have been considered as an efficient approach to address these demands by
offering significant multiplexing and diversity gains over single antenna systems without increasing
bandwidth and power. Although MIMO systems can unfold their huge benefit in cellular base stations,
but they may face limitations when it comes to their deployment in mobile handsets.
To overcome this drawback, relays (fixed or mobile terminals) can cooperate to improve the overall
system performance in cellular networks. Cooperative communications can efficiently combat the severity
of fading and shadowing through the assistance of relays. It has been found that using relays the capacity
and coverage of cellular networks can be extended without increasing mobile transmit power or
demanding extra bandwidth.
